การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อจัดกิจกรรมในการบริหารจัดการโครงการวิจัยย่อยทั้ง 3 เรื่องให้ บรรลุวัตถุประสงค์ 2) เพื่อสังเคราะห์ผลการดําเนินงานของโครงการวิจัยย่อยทั้ง 3 เรื่องให้ได้องค์ความรู้ ในเชิงวิชาการ 3) เพื่อนําผลการวิจัยของโครงการย่อยทั้ง 3 เรื่อง มาจัดทําสื่อเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้ เช่น จัดทําหลักสูตรท้องถิ่นระดับประถมศึกษา สื่อการเรียนรู้วิชาคติชนวิทยาระดับอุดมศึกษา วิดีทัศสารคดี ความรู้และหนังสือชุดความรู้ 4) เพื่อจัดทําข้อเสนอแนะเชิงนโยบายในการพัฒนาชุมชนต่อหน่วยงานที่ เกี่ยวข้อง การวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยชุมชนซึ่งผู้วิจัยได้บรูณาการระเบียบวิธีวิจัยของศาสตร์ทั้ง 3 สาขามา ประยุกต์ใช้ในการวิจัย อันได้แก่ 1) การศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ 2) การวิจัยแบบมีส่วนร่วม และ3) การวิจัยทาง คติชนวิทยา ซึ่งผู้วิจัยเลือกใช้เครื่องมือในการวิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แบบสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก 2) แบบสอบถาม 3) แบบบันทึกการสังเกตแบบมีส่วนร่วม 4) แบบบันทึกการสังเกตแบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม (Non Participant Observation)เพื่อเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างในการวิจัย คือ ปราชญ์ชาวบ้าน ผู้นําชุมชน ชาวบ้าน สมาชิกกลุ่มอาชีพ

ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ด้านบทสังเคราะห์ผลการดําเนินงานของโครงการวิจัยย่อยทั้ง 3 เรื่อง พบว่า งานวิจัยในโครงการย่อยได้มุ่งพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์จากภูมิปัญญาของชาวบรูที่มีมาแต่อดีต ทั้งภูมิ ปัญญาสมุนไพรไทยบรู ภูมิปัญญาเครื่องจักสานไทยบรู และภูมิปัญญาผ้าทอไทยบรู ทําให้ชุมชนได้รับ ประโยชน์จากการวิจัย การพัฒนาภูมิปัญญาสมุนไพรพื้นบ้านสู่นวัตกรรมชุมชนตามแนวทางเศรษฐกิจ สร้างสรรค์ ได้ต้นแบบผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพร 2 ประเภท คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์สมุนไพรมาส์กหน้าชีดิน และ ผลิตภัณฑ์ยาบํารุงร่างกายไทยบรู ส่วนโครงการวิจัย การพัฒนาภูมิปัญญาเครื่องจักสาน พื้นบ้านสู่ นวัตกรรมชุมชนตามแนวทางเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ ได้ต้นแบบผลิตภัณฑ์เครื่องจักสาน 2 ประเภท คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์จากไม้ไผ่และผลิตภัณฑ์จากเตย และ โครงการวิจัย การพัฒนาภูมิปัญญาผ้าทอพื้นบ้านสู่ นวัตกรรมชุมชนตามแนวทางเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ ทําให้ได้ต้นแบบผลิตภัณฑ์ผ้าทอไทยบรู 2 ประเภท คือ ผลิตภัณฑ์หมวกจากผ้าทอพื้นเมือง และผลิตภัณฑ์กระเป๋าจากผ้าทอพื้นเมือง ซึ่งผลิตภัณฑ์ดังกล่าวได้ ตอบสนองความต้องการของชุมชนได้เป็นอย่างดี ด้านกระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชน ผู้วิจัยพบว่า กระบวนการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชนในโครงการวิจัยนี้ผู้วิจัยพบว่า ชุมชนเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมใน 6 ลักษณะ คือ การสํารวจข้อมูลภูมิปัญญาปัญหาของชุมชน การจัดเวทีชุมชนเพื่อระดมความคิดเห็น การจัดอบรบ ให้กับคนในชุมชน การร่วมกับชุมชนในการผลิตนวัตกรรม การนําข้อมูลที่ได้มาสังเคราะห์ เพื่อจัดทําหนังสือชุดความรู้ และการจัดเวทีคืนความรู้สู่ชุมชน นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่า ชุมชนยังเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการพัฒนาโจทย์วิจัย เพื่อศึกษาภูมิปัญญาของชาวบรู การมีส่วนร่วมในการเก็บรวบรวมองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับภูมิปัญญา และการมีส่วนร่วมในการร่วมพัฒนาภูมิปัญญาของชาวไทยบรูตามแนวทางเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์
